Black navbar and status bar icons on the home screen?

Hey there! I know It's not a really important thing but just wondering about it.. if you look at the Z5 pictures online and on the box (the white version) you'll see the navigation bar icons (home, back, recents) and the status bar icons are black when the white theme is applied. It's not like that when you actually use the phone. They're normally white. is there an actual way (without a serious modification) to make them like that?

About upgrading micomax canavas hue 2 from kitkat to lollipop.

I'm using canvas hue2 model a316.
There is no official update for my device, i need update anyway possible.i have rooted device using kingo root n then replaced superuser by superSU for busybox and titanium backup to work fine.i don't knoe what to do for upgrading though i tried searching custom roms for it but no luck, there's not a single one supporting. There r many apps like mirrativ n others which needs lollipop for broadcasting n using full functions of them. "*Any way i can make it assume that it is not kitkat instead it is lollipop? Or any other way? Or any custom rom? Or other official update that will support it for upgrade?*"
And the worst thing is that it has inbuilt battery in it(non removable)..it's design copied from iPhone 6 kinda look like it! Plz help!

Disapearing Playlist

So I added my iTunes library using isyncr like I always do with my Android phones but to the SD card instead since Samsung decided to only make this a 32gb internal.

Now when I go to my music player, one of my Playlist (just one) is always missing. If I unmount the SD CARD and remount it, I go to the music player and I see the Playlist for about 3 seconds then it goes away.

Hopefully this is an easy fix, things like this are normally the reason I keep going back to the iPhone and my Nexus. Any help will be great as so far this has been the best phone Samsung has made.

Firmware related questions ʕ•ﻌ•ʔ

Hi guys.

Im absolutely new to the htc community. I just bought an m9 and immediately rooted it using the manual in the general section.

From what I've understood, im now s-on? I searched the internet a bit about s-on an s-off and it was pretty clear. Now if i want to install a rom i can simply flash it using TWPR. But, I'm reading here and there that we can update our firmware if we are on s-off.

So my question is: am i correct in the first place? And second, is it really that necessary to update the FW and therefore make the device s-off? What are the actual benefits of s-off and what are the benefitsof a new firmware?(ist this included in a new rom base?)

Thanks in advance!

First Steps - New RN3 (SD) in EU

Hi XDA,

i just got my RN3 (SD) from banggood and i'm on MIUI Global 7.1 Stable (7.1.99.99 LHOCNCL).

I have problems with some apps and i think its cause there is no locale for my country (Austria) and i configured the clock manually.

So i'm looking for options and clearification:

- I can flash official roms (from here) right away, correct? (without unlocking bootloader, rooting, TWRPing etc...)

- I'm waiting for my official unlock code. Can i unlock with my current rom (7.1.99.99) and newer global official roms? (here it says yes but not sure)

- MIUI is neat, but i kinda miss CyanogenMod. As far as i can tell there are no custom Roms out there with working RIL, fingerprint and stable enough for a daily use? RR seems on a good way and Mokee looks even more promising. Any recommendations or other roms i should keep an eye on?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

Please help me.. In a big trouble with custom roms

Guyz please see my attachment.. In every custom roms of marshmallow or Lollipop.. Doesn't matter which kernel I'm using, I face slow charging while using mobile data (3G). I don't face charging issue when not using data.. But when using mobile data my charging speed is like 10 ma to 30 ma.. That is weird and tooo slow. But nor my cable or charging adapter is broken because I only face this in custom roms .In miui my charging speed is 300-400 ma when heavy apps are in use with mobile data use. So the problem is in custom roms.. Is there any way to solve? As I already tried all custom kernels, don't ask me to use another custom kernel. Help will be appriciated. Don't reply if u don't want to help and if you didn't read the full post. Peace. Thanks In Advance :)

All things Marshmallow

All the other threads are kind of scrambled, so I made this thread to discuss all things marshmallow.

OTA

The OTA is rolling, many of us have gotten it, and those who haven't should get it very soon.

WHAT'S NEW

-Wifi Calling
-Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
-Good Lock Support
-Battery Improvements with Doze
-Now on tap
-New app icons
-1 more bloat app :(

DOWNGRADE STATUS

I am happy to announce that after taking the Marshmallow OTA update, I have had NO ISSUES downgrading to PB1 using Odin.

ROOT

Root should be coming to MM very, very soon. I'm almost done.

Post any questions/comments about MM below.

LG V10 Charging issues

So as of last night my LG V10 has been having major issues with charging. First off I will plug it in and for a second the little battery icon will do the animation and then stop. I went to the battery status screen and it said that the phone was not charging. Secondly it will restart on its own when plugged in and it's not charging. i first noticed something was up about two weeks ago. I left my phone to charge overnight, then I went to use it when I woke up and it was at 1% battery then turned off. I plugged it back in and it charged fine. Later in the day i was on my way to work and I went to check my phone but it would not turn on. I'd press the power key (on the back) and it would just do a quick little vibration but would not turn on. I then took the battery out and put it back in. Since then it has worked fine until last night. i tested out two cables and I tried them both on my PC. T he phone would still not charge. I just went to sleep with it plugged in, hoping it would somehow charge at some point in the night. Woke up and no dice. I tried one last time to charge it and somehow it charged normally. All the way to 100%. I could even use it while charging. Just a few moments ago I tried to test it again. Surprise surprise...it would stop charging. As I type this it just restarted twice while plugged in. i just removed it from the cable now. I really have no idea what is wrong with my phone. Here are a few things I believe may have something to do with it: I use it to hear music in the shower (potentially vapor), I sometimes put the charger the wrong way (somewhat roughly), and I have it in my pocket while at work where it get hot and has lots of moisture. I am waiting on doing a factory reset. I just ordered a new battery. At this point I'm lost on what to do. I really hope someone on here can help me figure this out. I'm on AT&T by the way.

WANTED: Feedback on hobby project 'ANDROID MOBILE TRIAGE KIT'

::THE HOOK
Hello! My name is Atomicmuffin, and may I present the concept of an (aptly dubbed)'Android Mobile Triage Kit'! This is a minor little "side-project" i've been killing time with as of late and it had been suggested by an associate that I share with the community.

::THE GOAL
In a nutshell? I just want community feedback. Before I set to work typing out a series of long articles (I tend to be overly defining in my writing :C), and before I spent the time to lay everything out, taking pictures, tutorializing steps, etc. And that's just the Forum part. The UI/UX is non-existant, nor do I have any sense of established direction with my custom software tools and the like that i've written. SO, before the required time is spent "noobifying" my mini-project and developing documention as such...here I am.

::A BRIEF BACKSTORY
I decided to come here and gather input from th community following my experiences yesterday, which consisted of the successful ressurrection of an associates' pretty-much-dead Galaxy S3-Mini via on-the-spot boot-sdcard generation....subsequently followed by another associate whom wanted the latest firmware (Marshmallow) for their S5 (flashed to PB1..they were still on 4.4.2 KitKatt! NK1 I believe)...and capped off with the first-timers' starter-pack (S4-edition) for a friend: TWRP Flash + Root >> then custom ROM and Kernel.

This general scenario is of course nothing new to the modding community, however there is one (or maybe two or three) critical aspects of this partiticular endeavor that may appeal to some, the primary of which is PORTABILITY.

All of this happened in a 20-minute window, at a Starbucks, and it all fits in my jean pocket. Hell, half the time was spent waiting for downloads to complete on crappy Starbucks wifi. Afterwards, It was suggested that I venture outside of my bubble and share with others this little setup i've assembled. And after brief consideration about persuing it, and longer consideration for the name of it, here I am.

Triage [tree-AZH]:
-Noun -- Triage is the process of examining problems quickly, often with limited resources, in order to decide which ones are the most serious and consequently must be acted upon first.

Alrighty then!...but why?
See...now that's just one o' them great life mysteries. But actually, I'd have to conclude that it is because I lack other, more creative ways to spend my free time. Take this circumstance combined with owning excessive amounts of Samsung mobile devices (in sequential order, too!) and **** like this was just bound to happen sometime....

::PEAKING UNDER THE HOOD
So...just what is the 'Android Mobile Triage Kit' exactly?
It is an assortment of tools & utilities, both hardware and software, and self-made as well as some google-search-aquired software components and some Amazon-search-aquired hardware components. And so, with those powers combined, out pops a Triage Kit in which one can quickly assess and attend to any Samsung mobile device capable of being flashed via ODIN.

Even at this stage (lets call it Pre-PreAlpha) or "state" of the project, there is nothing I cannot do in ODIN, nor any other tool that this setup cannot do as well. Mobile Odin and FlashFire (and similar apps), while certainly very useful and convienent for what they are (Thanks Chainfire! And also for the inspiration!), they depend on one, often-critical and unchangeable fact of life: The device has to at least boot. Even further, make it into a ROM after booting, and further still, require root privs. Whereas the only immovable obstacle facing my uniquie approach would be something along the lines of definitive hardware failure (like you dropped it in the pool).

Even if you're hard-bricked and cannot reach ODIN-mode, depending on which device you have the tools exist or are in-development, and those select devices can often be recovered by constructing a boot-sdcard (or more advanced, a boot eMMC-like partition on an external flashdrive). Currently, the pair of tools i'm developing to handle those tasks is on the backburner, but not forgotton.

::TEAR 'ER APART AND PIECE 'ER TOGETHER
All that's left is the how. This article is already too damn long as well so I'll try to be brief..

Absolute Essentials:
1x - Samsung-manufactured device to be operated on. (e.g the phone you wanna ODIN-flash)
1x - Mobile Device running Android 4.4+ (KK+) and ROOT CAPABLE, ideally Samsung-manufactured as well but not critical.
1x - USB-Std A--Female to USB-MicroB--Male Adapter. Colloquially referred to as an USB-OTG adapter.
1x - Length of standard USB-Std A--Male to USB-MicroB--Male cabling. (AKA Charge cord)
MUCH - Patience.

This would be bare minimum. My "kit" contains many more tools and doohickeys to save as many helpless victims on the go as possible. I'll add a pic later, but given the functionality of it all, it STILL FITS INSIDE MY 'TRIAGE BAG' (aka A Crown Royal Baggy), AND FITS ENTIRELY INSIDE MY JEAN-POCKET, ALBEIT SNUGGLY..

::THE NITTY GRITTY
Since Android runs atop the Linux Kernel, The main concept here is what happens inside the MasterDevice (or HostDevice, if you will). We actually piece together a Linux Distribution and build a rootfs imagefile. We "boot" this image inside the phone, passing variables, params and other required resources from Android such as hardware drivers, etc. We then pull a Chinese Fire Drill with various processes, handing the reigns over to this booted image. Once all is said and done, we have (for all our relavent intents and purposes) a running Linux Distro in which we operate. From there it's just a matter of developing the comm tools.

This "chroot", as it's called in Linux terms, isn't only limited to our application of it flashing devices. In fact, I built my "Plebian" (my own personal Debian-based setup) chroot on my VZW-branded Galaxy S4 for the sole purpose of assisting in the ONLY OTHER "side-project" i'm working on currently: Reading, Reverse-Engineering and Hacking the CANBUS its associated modules inside a BMW E90 via the ODB-II port. You can do anything! It's basically a mini-desktop. In fact, i'm (although sparingly) working on further integration with my phones, involving root-switching, kernel-switching, kexec'ing (hot-booting Kernels), and perhaps even bootloader bypasses? Who knows. But anyway....

If interest is lackluster, no big deal, whatevs, it's just a side-project. However should interest explode, patience would be a virture, as it would be a good chunk of time before I'd finish creating all relevant documentations and such, and stabilize the disaster that is the current UX before finally going public. Unforuntely in it's current "working" state, only those with quite the intimate knowledge of Linux (and kernel), usb, serial device communication, etc..etc...would be able to actually use it effectively. Thus why i'm here to receieve feedback!

::THE FINAL QUESTION: Should I continue to develop and release such a project? And would the community benefit to such an extent as to justify the additional time investment? Thank you guys so much for the input!

P.S: Didn't know which forum to post in, since i'm currently only requesting feedback in the conceptual sense, so posting it in off-topic.

Successful Nook Tablet Boot SD Cards?

A few months ago I tried to make a bootable Nook Tablet SD card but failed (have not had any problems making bootable Win Drives), had other projects so gave up.

Am ready to try again so have decided to check everything I can find concerning making bootable mSD cards. A number of posts have recommended using SanDisk 4 to 6 speed SD cards.

Unfortunately most of my mSD cards are Non SanDisk so hope some of them can make a Successful Bootable mSD Card so appreciate any mention of successful Nook Tablet boot Non SanDisk SD cards.

"SD Strange-results - or - How I learned to love CM7 on SD - Dec-11 results compiled!" http://ift.tt/1VtrlZm swoozle posts "SMALL BLOCK RANDOM WRITES
where the Sandisk is FIFTY times the speed of the Patriot and ONE HUNDREDtimes the Kingston" The last post was 20th June 2013 so wonder what the SMALL BLOCK RANDOM WRITES values are for newer SD cards?
The last post tonestertm says "I started researching for a better test, found something incredibly technical and very comprehensive which I have not yet figured out how to use, and got to wondering... what file size and Queue Depth would best emulate the usage of a Nook Color SD install?" While this is for the Nook Color I hope this info will also be helpful for the Nook Tablet.

Would like to test my mSD cards concerning small block random writes or other factors for successful Nook Tablet SD card booting so am interested in what you consider to be the best Test App for this?

Should mention "micksh 29th April 2011 posted "the big issue is random access performance -- a figure that isn't taken into account in a card's class rating. Ironically, Microsoft discovered in its testing that cards with higher class ratings actually performed worse on Windows Phone 7 because the tweaks card manufacturers make to achieve high sequential throughput can actually hurt random access times." Tried to use link but got "404 Not Found"

Also am wondering what robot8 mentioned "No way to tell on the card or packaging. Even the same cards from the same brand may perform differently. The speeds vary from batch to batch. No way to tell until you actually benchmark it. YMMV. FWIW, I'd avoid Class 6 and higher cards as they are optimized for high speed sequential r/w and generally perform well on small block random reads but poorly for writes. You will probably get better results from most Class 2 or Class 4 cards. After a couple of weeks pulling my hair out due to random FCs and blaming the Nook/CM7/OC kernel/apps, I realized the problem was due to the SD cards, at first I could not believe it as I was using expensive Class 6 and 10 "performance" cards. Well, they may perform well for shooting and viewing videos, but they sure suck when running an OS. I now have zero problems since the switch and swear by Class 4/8G Sandisks" Is this still correct?

I am looking for something that will beef up the waterproofing of the phone slightly and possible provide port covers. It would also be nice if there was a place to hook a key chain loop for a carabiner. I spend a lot of time out on water and would love to make this phone be truly water proof even for swimming or standing in the water.

Return to Stock without fastboot?

Hello.

I am interested in attempting to return my Nexus 6 to stock 6.0 for a warranty exchange. Normally I would make a nandroid and titanium backup, sync the backups to google drive and an OTG usb, wipe userdata and caches, and flash a full firmware via fastboot. Unfortunately, my USB port is defective (the reason for the RMA in the first place). I am running a custom rom, TWRP recovery, and am bootloader unlocked.

I am aware that I can flash a stock 6.0 ROM, but that doesn't cover the bootloader, radio, or recovery. As I am sending the device back to Motorola, I need it to be 100% stock.

Can I flash the required files via Flashify or similar? In my previous experience (Samsung) I was able to use Mobile Odin to flash everything but modem - if I could do that I would just flash everything to the same build as the radio I am currently running (27r).

Any ideas?

For reference, I have already looked through these threads.

Lag and Randon screen flashing.

Lately my girlfriend has been having issues with her GS7 edge, she has the screen timeout for 1 minute yet the screen turns off randomly when she's scrolling or texting or just about anything.

Also when she has her phone face down laying on her she notices the screen flashes blue.

And just the lag on the phone, she tells me when she's messaging a lot her phone lags. When she unlocks her phone weather its using her fingerprint or the pattern to unlock it. So I suggested her waiting for a minute before she answers back and it does improve it but is that something she's going to have to do for now on or is there something to fix these things.... I know it's touch wiz and there is always lag when you are dealing with it but I don't really know since I've always used Nexus devices.

Are Prostitutes Better Than Normal Women?

Are Prostitutes Better Than Normal Women?
A Short Essay by John Doe

Is it cheaper to have sex with normal women than with prostitutes? No, and here is why.

When you have sex with a normal girl, it's by no means "free". You have to take her out to dinner, buy her drinks, and you might have to go on two or even three dates before you will have sex with her. If you add up the total costs of these three dates, it would be approxiately around 400 dollars.

Now let's look at the cost of the average high quality prostitute. You can bang a prostitute for 2 hours for 250 dollars.

What are the benefits of using prostitutes instead of dating normal women?

1. The average prostitute is far hotter than the average normal woman you can date.
2. YOU get to do the choosing, and the power of choice is in YOUR hands, instead of in the woman's hands
3. With a prostitute, you have sex with her and that's it. No emotional drama, no mind games, no bull****, like there is with normal women.
4. You don't have to waste hours of your valuable time that you could otherwise spend on making money, taking women out on dates or trying to pick up women in bars and clubs. No, instead you pay a prostitute for one or two hours of her time, have sex with her, and leave.
5. You choose WHEN you want to have sex. So let's say you're a busy businessman, instead of wasting 5 hours at a bar or on a date, instead you'd spend only one or two hours with a prostitute, and that at your convience too. YOU are the one who chooses WHEN, and so you save a LOT of time.
6. Prostites are DEFINITELY cheaper than getting married. Overall, through a 10 year marriage and divorce, you'd end up spending at least 250,000 dollars. Now let's take that number and divide it by 250 dollars, which is the average price of a high quality prostitute in a Western country. That is sex with 1000 different high quality prostitutes. Now if you talk to any married man, who is HONEST, he will admit that sex with the wife after the first 6 months or year starts to get boring. And this is why people in long term relationships barely have sex, because it's BORING having sex with the same person time after time. Variety is the spice of life! You could have sex with 1000 different women for the same price it would cost to marry one woman and have sex with her. And considering how unstable most western women are nowadays, the chance of divorce is around 60%, with the woman initiating the divorce 90% of the time. You are likely to lose at least 50% of your assets and savings in a divorce, and so marriage to a western woman may end up costing you up to 500,000 dollars or even a million dollars, once you add in the divorce costs and long term child payment and alimony costs.

So let's take that number, one million dollars, and divide it by 250. That's 4000 DIFFERENT women you could pay to have sex with, instead of marrying one woman who will just end up turning into a bitch and divorcing you anyway. So it's your choice guys. Would you rather marry one woman, who will get bored of sex after 6 months, and end up stealing all your assets and savings in divorce, or would you rather have sex with 4000 different beautiful women for the same price?

Another very relevant point is that the world of modern dating has become quite risky. Most women see nothing wrong with making a false rape accusation against a man. Most rape cases are fake and are done out of a motive of REVENGE by the woman. Did you break up with your girlfriend? Watch out, she might make a false rape accusation against you just to get revenge. Did you cheat on your girl with another girl? Watch out, she might make a false rape accusation just to get revenge on you. Forgot to tell your girlfriend "happy birthday"? Watch out, she might make a false rape accusation against you in order to get revenge on you. At least 90% of rape cases are FALSE, the sex was CONSENSUAL and the woman later changed her mind AFTER the act and decided "oh it was rape". LOL. And this is why the police no longer take rape cases seriously, because literally 90% of women who claim to have been raped are LYING!

So that is another HUGE benefit of prostitues. A prostitute won't make a false rape accusation against you.

What's another GREAT reason that men choose to use prostitutes? Because by paying for sex, they can have sex with a MUCH hotter quality of woman than they would normally. For example, if we rate women on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of beauty. The average guy will be able to pick up and have sex with a 4 or a 5 from a bar, a club, or Tinder. Meanwhile, if the same man paid for sex with a high quality prostitute for $250 dollars (about the same amount of money he would spend picking up a 4 or 5 from a bar, club, or Tinder), the prostitute he would have sex with would be an 8 or 9 on the beauty scale. So for the same amount of money, he can have sex with a much hotter woman, and with much less effort too. Think about all the effort you have to put in to go to a bar or club. You have to buy good clothes, you have to spend lots of money on drinks and food, and also have to spend a lot of money on making sure your apartment is cool and stylish so the girl will feel comfortable there. So unless you're a man who was blessed with the looks of Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise and have women chasing after you, the easiest and cheapest option for most men to have sex with the hottest quality of women is to simply PAY for sex with a hot prostitute. One guy was asked why he paid to have sex with prostitutes and his reply was "If I'm being brutally honest, the hottest women I've ever had sex with have been prostitutes … I would never be able to have sex with women who are ridiculously hot unless they were prostitutes." I can also personally testify to this point. The types of chicks I was getting from Tinder were mostly fat or at best mildly hot, I would have rated them between a 3 and a 6 on the attraction scale. Then the first time I went to a prostitute, I was blown away with the options and the QUALITY too. Here were super hot girls who I could bang for such a cheap price. Needless to say, I gave up on dating and ONLY bang prostitutes now. I'm a much happier and peaceful person as a result.

Another couple of reasons that men gave as to why they choose to have sex with prostitutes are:

"Getting a prostitute is so easy: no strings attached, you can choose the woman you want before you purchase, then they arrive at your door. Couldn't be easier."

I can also testify to this. Getting a normal girl to have sex is a real pain in the ass and involves so much struggle, drama, and mind games. Then of course after you have sex with her, you have to deal with her stalking you, calling you so many times, and with her unrealistic expectation that you are going to have a committed and exclusively relationship with her. All that compared with the EASE of banging a hot prostitute, and the choice is simple. I chose to not waste time trying to date women anymore and only bang hot prostitutes now.

"We want to have sex without all the bull**** of pretending to be really interested in a girl. When you pay for sex, you don't have to swap numbers at the end when you know you won't call. You pay, have sex, she leaves. Everyone's happy."

This goes along with the above point. With normal women and dating, you have to PRETEND to care about her and PRETEND to be interested in her, when in reality all you want is to have sex with her. With a prostitute, there is no pretensions and that really is a beautiful thing because ultimately then sex becomes about the raw physical act as well as the pure attractiveness of the woman, and thus you are able to enjoy sex a lot more.

Lastly, let's touch on the issue of legalization. On average surveys, 70 percent of men said they would vote to legalize prostitution, meanwhile 60 percent of women said they would vote to keep prostitution illegal. Now it's pretty obvious why women want to keep prostitution illegal. Women use sex as a weapon to control men. So it would disrupt the economics of women's control over sex if prostitution was legalized, because then MEN would have control over WHO they want to have sex with and WHEN. Forget all those arguments about morality, the REAL reason women want to keep prostitution illegal is so that they can CONTINUE to control men with sex. In effect, women are like a mafia that is desperate to keep control of the sexual marketplace. If prostitution was legal, men would be a lot less inclined to put up with women's bull**** just to get sex from them, when they can go pay for sex from a much more attractive woman and without all the hassles and drama that dating and normal women bring.

What about STDs some of you might say? Well the whole STD scare is mostly a MYTH that has been blown way out of proportion by feminists and conservative religious leaders in order to scare men away from having sex. In reality, the rate of transmission of AIDS is 1 out of 700 during heterosexual sex. That is, if a man had penis to vagina intercourse with an AIDS-infected woman, it would take 700 times on average before he would contract it. The only way people get AIDS is through using needles to inject drugs, or having anal sex, especially with homosexuals. So the whole AIDS thing is a huge scare, a MYTH, that has been blown way out of proportion.

What about Herpes? Well studies show that 80% of the US population already has Herpes in one of it's forms, so that is not really an issue.

The only other STD that you would have to worry about is Chlamydia, and it can be easily cured within 3 days with antibiotics.

Now, that is UNPROTECTED sex. If you are using condoms to have sex with, then the chances of getting any of these STDs becomes less than zero. And that includes oral sex as well. Most prostitutes will insist that you always use a condom, even during oral sex. So as long as you are using condoms, then STDs are nothing you should even remotely worry about.

So what are some of the main reasons why prostitution should be legalized?

1. If prostitution was legal, it would reduce the STD transmission rate by about 50% amongst prostitutes.

2. If prostitution was legal, it would reduce rape by at least 150%.
Many studies have shown that legal prostitution reduces rape, sexual assault, and other sex crimes by a lot. The same studies have shown that legal prostitution reduces the STD rate amongst the general population by about 50%.

3. The real number of human trafficking victims in the prostitution industry is actually less than 5%. But if prostitution was fully legal, the tiny number of women who are forced into prostitution involuntarily would be able to go to the poliec to get help and escape from their pimps. Keeping prostitution illegal hurts prostitutes the most, so it's funny how feminists want to keep prostitution illegal and yet at the same time claim they care about women's health and women's rights. Feminism is nothing but the biggest pile of bull**** hypocrisy the world has ever seen.

4. Feminists say "my body, my choice". So if 95% of prostitutes are VOLUNTARILY engaging in prostitution, then why should those women have the RIGHT to choose what to do with their own bodies, even if that includes trading sex for money? What right does the government or anyone else have to tell two consenting adults that they cannot exchange money for sex?

5. It would save a lot of money and resources from our police and government. Tens of millions of dollars a year are wasted by our police and government arresting and putting prostitutes in jail. If prostitution was LEGAL, on the other hand, and taxed and regulated, it would bring in tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars a year in tax revenue for our government, as well as freeing up valuable police time for REAL crimes like rape, theft, murder, assault, etc.

6. If prostitution was legal, prostitutes would have legal rights and would not longer get taken advantage of by pimps and other shady figures, including corrupt police officers. Yes, the police also contribute to the oppression of prostitutes because there are many corrupt police officers out there who blackmail and extort prostitutes for money and/or sexual favors. If prostitution was legal, all of this would end and prostitutes would finally have legal rights.

7. Prostitution is the world's oldest profession. It is NEVER going to stop no matter how much the police or government tries to stop it. There are ALWAYS going to be men who are willing to pay money for sex, and there are ALWAYS going to be women who are willing to give sex to men for money. Prostitution has also been an integral part of many cultures and thus trying to stop it is literally impossible. And why should it be stopped? No one has the right to tell two consenting adults that they cannot exchange money for sex. So rather than waste time trying to stop it, just legalize it and tax it, the same way we do with cigarettes, alcohol, and now marijuana.

All in all, I believe in personal freedom. I believe that no one has the right to force their own sense of morality onto others. In some very ancient cultures, prostitutes were actually given very high status in society and considered as spiritual people who could heal men of their problems through sex. That was thousands of years ago though, before self-righteous modern western religions were invented and started violently forcing their concepts of morality onto people. Funny how societies that were thousands of years old were actually far more advanced than we are in the modern age in terms of sex and prostitutes.

It took almost a century for people to wake up and legalize marijuana, which is a completely harmless natural plant that hurts no one. In the same way, society and people in general have to EVOLVE and realize that they have no right to force their own sense of morality or control onto others. The modern society is actually a very sexually restrictive society, compared to cultures and civilizations of the past. And it's this sexual restrictiveness which contributes to so much psychological neurosis, sex crimes, and frustration in general. Is it a coincidence how people in America are so quick to anger and lose their temper, whereas in a place like Thailand where prostitution is legal and accepted, people are very laid back and cool headed? People need to stop seeing sex as such a big thing, and just realize that sex is a normal and acceptable part of life.

With that said, I believe that I have covered all the points as to why prostitution should be legal and an accepted part of society, and so this essay comes to a close. Please feel free to copy, paste, and distribute this essay as my goal is to influence and educate as many people as possible, the only thing I ask is that you do not change it or edit it in any way whatsoever. Thank you very much

Sincerely,
John Doe

Galaxy Note 3 ATT SM N900A - rooting failed and the unlock bootloader question

I have an ATT Note 3 that was on 5.1, but I downgraded to 4.4.4 to see if I could get it to root. I have tried all of the available rooting options (towelroot, KingRoot, KingoRoot, iRoot etc) none of them work. Towelroot gives me the standard modstring error that I tried fixing with available codes, but that didnt work wither. So , my question is how do I work around the fact that I cannot get my phone to root and then do I need to unlock the bootloader or should I be able to install Safestrap after I get it rooted so I can load my ROMs? What other options are there for rooting the phone at this point?

Best method to unlock zenfone 5 bootloader without any freeze/random reboot!

I'm using RR 5.6.9 by @tank0412 for last one week.
http://ift.tt/1r1eCAn

So far I didn't face any freezing or random reboot issues. What I did is as below:

1. Flash/downgrade to UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-2.21.40.30-user firmware.
If you know how to flash stock firmware then skip step 2-13 and just do it.
2. TURN OFF the device. Press and hold Volume Up+Power to enter to fastboot/droidboot. When the ASUS logo shows up, release the power button and keep on pressed the Volume UP button. This will take you to droidboot/fastboot mode.
3. Check whether your PC detects the fastboot...
Code:

fastboot devices
if not, go to device manager and install the fastboot driver(by online). if fails, install from the PC by selecting the android device from the list.
4. Download this image UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-2.21.40.30-user.zip: http://ift.tt/1r1eMYy
If you have different SKU, you need to find the right firmware(version-2.21.40.30) here: http://ift.tt/1qyyOdt
5. Extract fastboot.img, boot.img, recovery.img from the zip file and copy to ADB folder to flash. Copy UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-2.21.40.30-user.zip to ADB folder as well.
6. Run the below commands:
Code:

fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader

wait for reboot.....
Code:

fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

7. Then go to recovery by selecting from the menu, you will an android logo with "!" sign. Press power+vol down+vol up sequentially and simultaneously, don't release any of the buttons. You should be in recovery mode.
8. In the recovery, select wipe data/factory reset
9. Select wipe cache partition
10. Select apply update over adb sideload
11. Now check whether your PC detects the ADB over USB. if not, go to your PC's device manager and install the ADB driver online. if fails, install from the PC by selecting the android device from the list.
12. After successful detection, run below command
Code:

adb sideload UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-2.21.40.30-user.zip
13. Download this official tool for Unlock Bootloader: http://ift.tt/1r1eCAm
14. Extract the downloaded file and copy the .apk file into you SDcard. Install that .apk(if it says untrusted app, then go to settings>security>enable Unknown sources).
15. Run the installed app and press unlock. wait and let it reboot. After this, your Asus splash screen will become white & bright.
16. Now do a clean flash for any custom rom.

You guys can try it. :highfive:

[Root] The incredible guide to incredible battery [Permissive kernel and Xposed]

The guide to get incredible battery on your S7E!

A lot of people are having trouble to push the 3600mah battery to the absolute max, so I will here show you how to do so. This will mainly be a link to another post made my @v7, which have made an incredible guide to get a good idle drain. I will mainly explain what works on our S7E and what not, while giving a few other tips. Most of these tips can be found all over the internet, but I just want one thread, where they're all collected, so people can read every tip in one thread. As most guides are general through out all devices, they is what works and what don't on our devices. You're free to share your own tips!

REMEMBER TO MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP. ANYTHING YOU DO ARE NOT MY FAULT NOR ANYONE ELSE BUT YOUR OWN FOR MAKING THIS CHANGES!

Firstly, use a debloated rom.. That do a lot..

As said, @v7 have made this guide here. Remember to thank him!

Greenify:

Get the donation package and greenify everything that runs in the background and you don't need push notifications with. With the Shallow Hibernation, it still runs nice and smoothly when you open them. After that, you enable GCM push for hibernated apps and look, if any of the apps that you need push notifications for, supports GCM push and if they do, hibernate them. You will still get notifications, but remember to check "Do not delete notifications from hibernated apps".

I have almost everything hibernated - Maps, Facebook Messenger etc, when still working smoothly - besides Play Store, as that gives problem with paid app licenses. I also enabled Aggressive Doze. You should whitelist the same as in Powernap, that will be listed below here.

Amplify:

I have everything in mentioned in the thread Amplified without problems. I hadn't touched the services, but they should be save to disable anyways. Network Location service, have given me problems with Android Wear communication before.

Powernap:

Here comes where you need a permissive kernel. The SuperKernel that just came out, is the only one on XDA for now. In Powernap you should whitelist the following
  • Amplify
  • Android System
  • Google Account Manager
  • Google Play-Services
  • Google Services Framework
  • Greenify + Donation package
  • Apps you need push notifications from (like Facebook Messenger)
  • Xposed Installer
  • Your alarm clock

Basically, you should whitelist anything that you want to run in the background while the screen is off.

Better Battery Stats:

Check the app after a sleep, but leave everything on as if you were using the phone (data, bluetooth etc) as this is about lowering power usage on normal use and not seeing how long standby time you can get while everything is turned off. GCM_Reconnect and Heartbeat might be high for Google Play-Services, but for me, limiting them gave late or non push-notifications, but test it yourself (remember to restart after limiting/unlimiting).

All the small things:
  • Turn off location history
  • Turn off services you don't need and let Tasker control it. (Turn GPS on when maps open, hibernate and turn maps of when closed etc)
  • Turn off bluetooth and wifi scan all the time
  • Get Smart Network from Xposed and set your network to Edge when screen is off and 3g/4g when screen is on.
  • A dark theme with dark icons can save quite some power
  • Samsungs own greyscale can be enabled in accesibility and then triple tab on homebutton, when you know you're out for a long day.
  • UPSM Manager from the Play Store can add apps to the Ultra Power Saving Mode, so you can add apps like Facebook Messenger and suddenly it's way more useable.
  • Use Tasker to force sync, instead of having it activated. I force sync every 2 hours with Tasker + Synker
  • I have turned off features that I DO NOT USE. Under Advanced Functions, almost anything + edge screen features.
  • More connection settings and "always search for devices" - Off

Custom kernel settings:

There are no custom kernel out on XDA yet that supports full Synapse, but the Echoe Team have successfully build one.

I have set both governors to conservative, which actually is impressive smooth, while it should be the most battery saving governor which don't lag (like Powersave).

The I/O schedulers should be set to noop which have quite good battery life, without limiting performance too much. I haven't felt a difference yet.

TCP Congestion is set to Westwood (but I think that is standard anyways).

Everything have been undervolted by 25mV. That is nothing from a battery saving perspective, but well, i'm still testing.

L Speed from @Paget96 (thank him!) here is quite nice too!

I haven't had any lags with these battery saving options yet. Everything not mentioned is just standard.
  • OOM Killer - Enabled
  • Cache Reclaiming - Minimum
  • Kernel Tweaks - Light
  • Kernel sleepers optimization - On
  • Battery improvement - on
  • Wifi sleeper - On
  • Flag Tuner - On (Some people on S7E have mentioned problems with this.. Lag, reboots and bootloops, but I haven't had any problems).
  • IO Boost - On

I have power saving mode enabled, with background data enabled and my phone is still butter smooth, Also, check for apps to add in the battery saving menu, as I have enabled some apps I don't use or need notifications from, manually.

I get around 5-6 hours SOT where 3-4 of them are Clash Royale, if not more.... Yeah, I game quite a lot.

I think that was all for now, but I will keep it updated when I get new ideas to push it to the limit.

This is still keeping the phone "smart", as you adjusts it for your needs.. Inb4 all the people saying, why buy a smartphone if you disable every feature.

Radio problems (had trouble updating firmware)

When I purchased my verizon droid turbo I used mofo and flashed computerfreek's KK ROM. This weekend I decided to unlock the bootloader.

I followed the instructions in "[GUIDE] How to unlock your bootloader, install TWRP and gain root access" and had issues in section 0. After double-clicking on the .BAT file I would reboot the phone and it would loop back to the bootloader. On the bootloader screen the space next to Baseband was blank. I re-downloaded, tried again, changed USB cables, tried different fastboot commands, tried flashing from another image... Finally I just stepped through the BAT file individually, line-by-line.

Now it boots normally. When I go back to the bootloader the baseband reads: MDM9625_104651.11.05.16.02R QUARK_CUST

The problem: I don't think the radio is in good shape.

When I start the phone there's an exclamation point next to the cell tower strength icon up in the status bar. The "4G LTE" indicator is on but it sure doesn't feel like it. The first time I went to download Sunshine it timed out (it downloaded fine on wi-fi).

I pulled my wife's iPhone out and started speedtest on both her device and mine. My pings are at least twice as long as hers, and my download/upload speeds are also much lower than her speeds.

I feel like with all the messing around I'm sure I could have messed up my phone's radio. For example: at one point I tried "fastboot oem config fsg-id verizon"

Anyone know what steps I can do to get it working well again?
(I was able to unlock the bootloader with Sunshine so that's going just fine).

Sprint HTC Development

OK, so I realize it is very, very early on, and the device has just been released, but what do you guys think the chances are of actually seeing some development for this device? I'm currently rocking the Sprint LG G4, and it is an absolute dud. It's killed me not being able to use a single custom ROM on this device. My upgrade is coming up on July 1. Either I'm going to upgrade to the HTC 10 or buy the Oneplus 3 and take it over to T-Mobile. But if there is actually a chance of seeing some development for the HTC 10 I just might stick with Sprint and see what happens. What do you guys think? Might we see some CyanogenMod or something?

Contacts Problem: Unfortunately Contacts Has Stopped

Hi everyone,

I started having a problem editing my goggle contacts about a month ago. I have searched for solutions, and it appears everyone is suggesting removing google+, which I have. Still I am unable to edit my contacts.
I can edit my google contacts in Windows 10 and I can view my contacts on my LG G3, but I still cannot edit them without the error "Unfortunately Contacts Has Stopped" occurring every time. I even tried installing an app "contact+" and it has the exact same problem.

Are there any solutions other than trying to install google+.

Also, I have not modified the LG G3 from the way it was sold. I am running android version 6.0.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It seems this is a common problem,, so I am hoping someone on this forum has solved it.

Thanks,
Rob

Missing space after flashing custom rom

Dear Community,

So I'm using the Nexus 6 with 32gb and after flashing a custom rom (Chroma Rom) I noticed that I'm missing ~3gb free total space.
So I searched around a bit and using logcat i found some partitions that were 1.4gb and had almost no data on it (less than 1mb).

Is this the missing space? Is there a way to add these back to the "normal" partition so they can be used?

Greetings

[Small Guide] Flashing Yoga tab 2 1050L with 1050LC to make calls

This method worked with Yoga Tab 2 1050l, maybe it will work on 1050f.

Step 1: Download & extract this STOCK "YT2_10_prc_call-blankphone-user-YT2-1050LC_USR_S000160_1504281409_WW21_CN"

Step 2: Download & install "Phone Flash Tool", "Yoga 2 USB driver". Skip If already installed

Step 3: Power Off your tablet and open Phone flash tool.

Step 4: On "Phone flash tool" Click on [File>Option>General tab>Flash option] then click on "Force fastboot sparsing 500MB"

Step 5: On "Phone flash tool" Click on > Download Tab > Scatter Loading. Now locate scatter firmware file (Present firmware folder extracted in Step 1) and load it.

Step 6: Connect your device with PC via data cable (Keep in mind the device should be switch Off). Now click on Download Button / Upgrade Button (having sign of Green Arrow :p) to begin flash Flashing.

Step 7: Wait until download complete. don't turn off your tablet until this complete.

Warning: Do this on your own responsibility.

I'm not a developer, I just share this method to help yoga tab 2 users.
We don't have many developers .
Good luck, and If there's any thing unclear just comment it.

[RECOVERY] Carliv Touch Recovery v5.1 Lollipop

DISCLAIMER:
Rooting your phone and using custom Recoveries and ROMS have risks and may result in bricking your device, and has nothing to do with Google or the device manufacturers. In case of any mishap I am not responsible if you brick/ruin your phone in any way.
Basic computer skills are required and minimal knowledges about phones and phones utilities too.
Make sure that whatever you do, you are doing it at your own responsibility.

Carliv Touch Recovery

This is a CWM based recovery and I did put up some work to update it to lollipop (cm 12.1) after official cwm development stopped at kitkat. It works with LOLLIPOP kernels and it builds with cm 12.1.
In this version I ported PhilZ Recovery full touch module.
Because the vold in cm 12.1 doesn't support cwm anymore I had to use the old fstab1 type for functionality, although for building reason a valid recovery.fstab should be provided in device tree. In the third post I'll write a building guide to make it clear for those who want to try building it.

Features:
- full touch menu ported by me from PhilZ touch Recovery. The old Napstar-xda touch module was good but it's quite old and to update that was too much work. Actually There is a version 4 with that touch module, all working, but the touch doesn't work with some input drivers and I had to give up on it for the more new and improved version from PhilZ.
- all cwm functionalities are up and working (adb, sideload, backup, restore, install, mass storage...). There is no mtp and if your phone doesn't have an external sdcard you can't connect it to PC while is in recovery mode. Also there is no usb-otg support. These two are present in twrp recovery (the best recovery at the moment). IMPORTANT, if you have only internal data media storage, don't ever format data if you don't have a ROM installed. ALso when you install a new ROM check the updater-script to not have wipe data. If you want to wipe data do it after you install the ROM.
- added new menu for backup and restore advanced, to use it for backing or restoring only a specific partition and I also ported from PhilZ the multizip flashing function.
- for MTK phones (if the flag is used in Boardconfig) there is a new menu to backup and restore some important partitions like uboot, nvram an secro because they are involved in restoring a lost IMEI, and also the logo partition which may often get broken by bad ported ROMs.
- besides these all my old specific menus (aroma, rainbow...) are still in place.
- added support for encrypted data partition using the builtin minivold from cyanogenmod with vdc commands (the ideea came from this post of Lekensteyn). Tested and working well with text ar hex passwords, and maybe will work with pin too but I don't think it will work with pattern :).
- there is no included root solution, only a warning if it is missing. I choose to do it this way because there is no universal root solution now and someone may end up messing things with a non-working root option. You can flash a zip installer from Chainfire's SuperSu or other solution that may work for your phone.

All screenshots are made with my old tool from here (still working well).

CREDITS:

The biggest thanks go to AP756 and DerTeufel1980, two friends from Germany, who sent me a new phone each, with lollipop OS and that helped me a lot to do this.

- Phil3759 for the touch code and many other things from his recovery;
- TWRP developers. I learned a lot from their work;
- Clockworkmod Team starting with Koushik Dutta and ending with all developers that made the CWM recovery what it was;
- Cyanogenmod Developers;

In next post there are some links for built recoveries. I'll add more soon as I get a valid link (on xda or androidfilehost, google drive, etc and not any shady service where links expire after some time or links routed through adfly or something like this) from people who build it for other phones.

I worked alone on this, there is no team here, not because I don't want to :) and so it may be some unspotted bugs. If you find any please do tell me to help on fixing it.

Translating ROM/Box from being a phone to a TV

Hey, I'm currently working with an Android TV box T8-AML-V3 which has some drawbacks. The major drawbacks being the inability to cast to it (like you would with a chromecast) and the inability to use the Android TV Remote app which I believe is due to the rom identifying the device as a phone rather than an Android TV.

Any advice as to changing the rom status to Android TV?

Nook Simple Touch. Unable to perform factory recovery

Hi there,

I rebooted my rooted NST and it froze.
After trying every suggestion I found, it unfroze but only to get stuck into a different screen..
The device is not recognized by my PC (Linux) and when I plug it to charge, the green light is always on. Here is what I did the time it got unstuck: I inserted a microSD with NookManager to perform a factory reset, then plugged it into an external battery (out 2.4 A). This time the light turn orange and it loaded Nook Manager, but after selecting factory recovery and removing the card (when requested) it got stuck again, it kept showing: "Exiting... Please eject your SD card etc etc." I tried again and the same thing happened. But now it doesn't even boot from the card and when I plug it the light is always green again :/
Any ideas??
(I also opened it and unplugged the battery several times)

Thanks in advance for your time :)
