Backstory - I run a broadcastify feed for my local Fire/EMS via a scanner and a linux netbook. I already have another server running in the same office plus every other electronic (tv/playstation/etc) and it gets a bit warm to say the least. Not to mention the unnecessary energy usage by using a netbook. Now on to my issue
I've seen a few threads that state the impedance on most external audio/mics may not be enough for the external mic to kick on all the time when being used with a smartphone. I have a spare Moto E that I want to use as my feed server for a few reasons but for the life of me can not get it to use an external mic feed.
Has anyone had any luck at all. It's definitely a niche thing but I'd like to get it working so I can free up some space in the office.
Thanks, in advance.
