What is Candid?

Candid is a way for you to voice your opinion about specific topics, without having your ideas linked to your personal information. Rebooting Issue Note 5 SK Telecom

I have a issue with a Note 5 for one of my customers.

It will turn on shows Samsung Logo then it will show the SK Telecom Logo after a few seconds on that logo it reboots.

I downloaded the 6.0.1 Android update flashed it with Odin and it still does the same thing.

She already got a new phone so trying to save the data.

Any other suggestions before I try to open the device it self (and end up breaking the back glass or peeling the paint) and check for hardware issues?

Bootloop (Stuck at "Preparing Apps x of xxx")

Hello,
I have an issue with my phone and any help or insight is appreciated!

I have a Oneplus One. Rooted with TWRP and MultiROM installed. I have two CyanogenMod ROMs installed. One is my primary one where I have all my apps, and another one that is almost empty (has few apps).

Few days ago, my battery drained and I charged it. Then when I turned it on, the phone started booting, passed through the MultiROM window (where you choose the booting ROM), then passed through the Boot animation, and then a screen appears where it says "Preparing Apps x of xxx". After the phone goes through all of my apps (optimizing/preparing them), it shuts down and starts all over again.

This was random. I didn't install a new update or anything. Note, that this only happens with my primary ROM. When I boot to my secondary ROM everything works fine. I had a backup of all my app data (~ 6GB) using Titanium Backup. However, I was running out of space and I deleted the backup from Google Drive few days earlier. I am very unlucky.

I tired the following to fix this issue and nothing helped:
1. Cleared chase and Dalvik chase.
2. Installed a CyanohenMod update. Apparently, my phone wasn't up to date.
3. Drained the battery completely and charged the phone.
4. Booted the phone while charing and while not charging.

I just want to get my apps data back. So is there anyway to fix this issue so that I can boot to my primary ROM?
If not, is there a way to fully backup my apps data in the primary ROM (the one that is not booting) and transfer this backup (install these apps with their data) to another ROM?

I can't back up my apps data using TWRP and save the backup in Internal Storage, because I don't have enough space. Maybe I can back app my apps data to my laptop somehow? Also, if I do a backup through TWRP, will the issue still persist when I do a restore (I am backing up a broken ROM)? I am afraid to do this step because in order to restore through TWRP (after backing up the ROM), I have to delete this broken Primary ROM first due to insufficient amount of space. If it ends up not working I will lose all my data!

Any help is appreciated. Sorry for the long post.

Sign in with Google not working

Hey guys
I have a peculiar problem where my sign in with Google is not working within the Android apps. Whenever I hit the sign in button nothing appears. No pop up to select the account. I have tested these apps on other phones and are working perfectly. Attaching the screen shots.

I cannot reset my phone by any means.

Hello guys,
I have Huawei Gplay Mini (CHC-U01) phone. I cannot load my phone into recovery mode and also cannot reset by any means. My phone works fine except that it doesnot go to recovery mode (Vol+ and Power) and reset issue. Whenever I try to reset or boot in recovery mode, it just get stuck at Huawei logo. Can anyone here help me?

2 different phones. Identical problem. Error in Download Mode flashing with Odin.

I have the same error in two i8190L phones. The first phone was rooted, the second phone never was modified.
I cannot access to recovery mode, I only access to download mode.
I cannot flash any stock rom, custom rom, pit+repartition+rom with odin, recovery , param , etc. Odin does not show errors.
For example, if I tried to flash "twrp-2.6.3.0-golden.tar" both phones show the identical red message "movi_write card_status:2 (1) start_blk: 6144". The download counter does not change.
Is it a s3 mini massive problem? Is it a hardware problem or a software problem? planned obsolescence? virus?
Is there a solution ?

Samsung Galaxy S4 Need Help Please!!!!

i have the samsung galaxy s4 on straight talk sm-s975l, running 4.3. I have a couple of questions, I have tried to root my phone with everything out there, towelroot, kingroot, oneclickroot, etc. The only way I have had any luck rooting my device is kingo root. Is this method a good way, or should I use odin and if so how can I do it? I want to install roms, force apps to my SD card, and anything else I can do with a rooted phone. I am new to the whole rooting thing so please make it easy on a newby...lol. I have many more questions, but for now I'll save them for later. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!! [Exynos] All apps drop connection and take about 5-10 seconds to reconnect

I have no idea why this keeps doing this but this is a brand new (TODAY) phone, it has been rooted which may be the reason, havent tried a different WIFI network because i havent got access to it, but every single app from MLB at Bat, Facebook Messenger, Twitter, YouTube, etc. All of these will stop connecting to whatever i may be doing, whether its searching for a video, searching for a website, searching for anything or trying to watch something it will drop for about 5seconds before it then refreshes itself and loads the page or sends the message. (NOTE MY INTERNET IS NOT BAD), 150Mbps download, 10Mbps upload, very good internet speeds and other devices do not do this. It doesnt do it after everything single operation it just does it every 5minutes or so.

Hopefully someone can pinpoint this problem and help me, Thank you

Poor car charging until reboot

CPG1.

This only occurs with mobile chargers. At least two different ones, rapid, in two different vehicles.

Phone barely charges until reboot, then charges quickly. This seems to happen almost all the time now, but only on mobile chargers?

Phone App force closing in the morning

Hi,

Not too sure if anybody else has had this problem. Every day morning, when I try to use my phone first time in the day, the phone app does not open. It opens and closes within half a second. It has been happening daily. A reboot fixes the issue for the moment.

However, need to check if anybody else has been facing this issue.

I am running stock 3.2.6.

To resolve the issue, I have tried hard reset, flashing stock OS, flashing 3.1.2 and then flashing the incremental OTAs, almost everything I have tried.

Looks like the issue has not been resolved at all. Tried switching off the doze mode as well. Not helping.

Anybody has any guidance/solution to this problem?

Android 6.0 Xperia S need immediate help pls

Hello guys! My name is derek. Im new to installing custom ROMs and i need help. So the thing is i wanted to install android 6.0 on my xperia s and i downloaded the 6.0 rom package. After that i went into recovery mode using CWM and i wiped all data. Next i pressed "install from sdcard" and i searched for the 6.0 package and i installed it. After that i pressed "reboot system now" and it showed the sony logo and then it showed four colorful dots that i think it might be a sign that it is loading. Is this normal? PS:NEED IMMEDIATE HELP!!!

Snapchat won't work at all

Ok. So here is my problem: Snapchat will log in perfectly, but it won't load snaps or refresh. I can still send and receive text like normal.
I know it's not the server because Casper works.
My account isn't blocked because Casper works.
Things I have tried to fix it:
Cleared data/cache
Reinstalled/updated
Cleared preferences
Logged in/out
Contacted Snapchat support(2 weeks ago, no answer)

I figured it's time to ask the geniuses at XDA :)

My samsung galaxy star pro bricked while installing chain fire 3d.

I tried to unbrick it by adb shell,It didn't work,and through samsung skies,it didn't even respond,and via odin I downloaded a firmware of samsung galaxy star pro and extracted it into odin,it just stuck on the last step and it didn't download any firmware{sammobile is not providing regular download}.My father gave my phone to someone who works in a mobile shop and he is going to give it in a samsung service center. Does anyone use a GPS logging program?

Does anyone use a GPS logging app? Do they output any type of useful stuff that might prove I was at a certain point at a certain time?

I'll explain: Pennsylvania has a new "Toll by Plate" system. I think it's a scam. Instead of paying a toll you just drive through. It snaps a picture of your license, then snaps a picture when you get off and sends a bill in the mail.

I got a bill for $6.35 or something. No problem. I knew about it. I was with a friend.

But another one? I went to Microcenter after work one day to pick up a Raspberry Pi 3. it's an hour drive for me.. I'm in New Jersey. Drive all the way there.. no problem.. today I get a bill in the mail for $30.05!! My little $25 RPI3 turned into a $50+ thing with this toll.

Anyway, I know the software can't help me now, but maybe in the future it'd be good to have. I can go into Google Maps and see my history, but it's not detailed. It's only that I left work and went to Microcenter, tacos, and home. Not to prove where I got on the Turnpike.

Trouble Flashing Custom ROM

So I rooted my 5X with the help of the Nexus root toolkit. I have successfully flashed Elementalx kernel through TWRP and have tried flashing the ROM and GApps through the toolkit and through TWP but always end up in a bootloop at the Google screen. What am I doing wrong?

I'm just looking to load a Custom ROM to possibly squeeze some extra battery life out of my 5X.:confused:

USB Type C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter

My issue
Hi everyone, I have a Nexus 6P and want to route my audio through a USB type C converter to 3.5mm headphone Jack. I have purchased one online, but it doesn't seem to be working. I have seen that the Moto Z has this adapter and I assumed one I found online would be compatible with my 6P. The reason I want to do this is because I prefer for the AUX jack to come out the bottom of my phone.

What I have tired
Changed 'Select USB Configuration' to all the different options and tried playing music.
Tried 'audio routing' apps from the app store

What I would like to know
Is this because I need to change a setting in my phone to route music out of the USB C?
Do I need to get some kind of DAC to allow support for this?
Has anyone else tried this with their phone?

Watch pairs with phone, but will not attempt to connect to phone.

Hi guys, I have been having an issue with the watch not being able to connect with my phone whilst being paired- not sure if its a watch specific issue or phone issue,
The bluetooth works fine will all other devices: car/speakers they will pair + connect automatically.
However, when i try to connect with my watch, there is no problem in pairing the devices (the code thing what not) but after the pairing, the devices wont connect automatically, and whenever i try to connect the devices, i dont get any response from the phone. E.g., if i tap on my paired devices with my speaker, it will try to connect and shows "connecting..." but if i tap on the watch, nothing happens, not even an attempt to connect, simply stays at not connected. I removing the pairing and resetting the watch, as well as restarting both devices, but issue still persists. Unsure if this is a problem with my phone or the watch itself, as the phone has no problems with connecting with other devices. Havent been able to try the pairing the watch with a different phone (i dont have a spare phone i can try connecting with atm, but will try that later on in the week by borrowing a phone off friend.)
Issue is even stranger considering i had no problems using the watch with this exact phone beforehand, (i just stopped using it for about 6 months because i lost my watch charging station and i couldnt be bothered to get a replacement until now.....)
The watch has been updated to the latest version, and the phone in question is galaxy alpha, running android 5.0.2

ADW 2 Beta -New Life For Old Launcher

I've been using the ADW Launcher since I moved to Android tablets afew years back. I'm always checking out new launcher releases to get a good balance of customization and performance. I was pleasatly surprised to see that after 5 years ADW has a whopper of an upgrade with vs 2 (still in beta) Many changes that I had been seeking were there. Huawei M2 802-L Doesn't Show LTE on status bar

Hello,

The status bar just shows "4g" and I set up with lte APN for tmobile USA.

Network Cell info Lite app shows LTE, but is the status bar not supposed to display LTE?

10GB of space unusable and un-deletable after ROM install

I installed the Stock ROM v4 and immediately after the install i noticed around 10GB were being used for nothing, but it was unusable and un-deletable.

Any thoughts on how to get that space back or redo the install so that doesn't happen again?

Greatness with few bugs !!

I have just flashed this ROM into my oneplus 2, I absolutely love it. There are a few minor bugs though which can be fixed easily.

1. Battery drain because of screen goes up to 30%
2. While watching videos in phone or online the videos have a loop where the same things plays again and again for 2 sec and audio just continues to play with the video loop
3. Minor bugs in Floating peek when trying to activate it through recent tab.
4. After the boot animation goes to AOSPA there is small gap like 10 seconds for the home screen to show up.
5. Unable to change the wallpaper in lock screen, I tried everything and it doesn't help.
6. I don't know if there is a slow motion camera feature.


Please fix the above issues and this would the best ROM for the oneplus 2, though I consider this as the best even now !! ;)

Video recovery

Hello community. I have a currently unrooted nexus 5. somehow I accidently deleted some pics and a video or two. Would like to get them back. The phone is my back up to my Nexus 6p so other than a white noise app and a little internet browsing and some Gmail checking, the phone has really not been used much since the pics and vids were deleted. Perhaps a couple Android security updates (has not been updated to nougat) as well.
Wondering if anyone can share their positive experience regarding pic and video recovery apps (I am not opposed to rooting if that helps) OR any other method they might think would work. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Redmi Note 3 Pro(Kenzo) Front-Camera Aperture Size?

Just bought Redmi Note 3 Pro(Kenzo) from China, the 2GB RAM/16GB storage version.
What is the aperture size of front-camera?
Why is mine only f/2.4? Isn't it supposed to be f/2.0?

The rest of the specs are intact, SD650, got an FPC Fingerprint, just curious if there are different front-cameras. :confused:
I'm on latest MIUI8 Global Dev ROM, 6.9.22.

My wireless keep changing from wifi and mobile data. Is there any reason and how to fix this? My wifi is fast enough, and my location is near the modem. Thanks.

Mysterious folders at storage/emulated/0...

Hi

I've noticed that some folders are mysteriously created at sdcard. I've been deleted some about 30 or more similar folders, and now another ones has been created again :confused:
What I've to do for set myself free of these?

If can be useful, I'm using a tab2 p3100 with slimkat stable and a 3.0.2.0 TWRP recovery.

Pictures missing

Boot into recovery after flashing a ROM

Hello, my problem is that after unlock bootloader and flashTWRP, I install a custom ROM (Resurrection Remix or CM13 Official) with gapps and when I reboot the phone, it boot into recovery again and again... I do the wipes off course. What I am doing wrong?

Xperia Z3C Bootloop After Flashing Rom

Yesterday I decided to root my Z3C.
I'm able to downgrade my firmware to 23.0.A.2.93 (Device D5803), root it, and install DualRecovery... No bootloop so far, I can boot the system and recovery with no problems at all, so I proceed to put a flashable rom on the device.

And I picked the nordic one under LTE-A [D5803]

I used an android app to verify md5 checksum and I get:
3aa435ce1bc650e0ff1254070482375a too bad I can't really verify if it's correct since there's no mention of the md5 for my flashable rom...

I boot into TWRP and wipe dalvik cache, cache, and data and then I install my rom.
Now when I boot into recovery again I can see that TWRP is updated, new interface and redesigned, I also have no CWM, so this seems to confirm that I did indeed flash it. However the moment I try to boot into the system I just get a bootloop, and no matter what I try I can't solve it. I've tried different roms, I've verified that the zip file is not corrupted with es file explorer, but nope...

So yeah, I have downgraded and redone everything now except the wiping/flashing. Please tell me how to go on from here or if there's any additional information you'll need.

Anyone having notification tone issues?

I haven't added or changed any apps recently. But today, my phone has started sounding the default notification tone about every 3 minutes or so, any time I have a notification icon on my phone. Sometimes even when there's no icon displayed. The only way I've been able to get it to stop is to turn off ALL notifications in ALL apps.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this before, or have any idea what I might look at?

Cell phone booster for the 6P?

I've been using my 6P since January, and I really like the phone. But one disappointment is it's ability to pull in a signal in sketchy areas. I spend a fair amount of time in areas that have weak signals, so this is an ongoing aggravation. When I know I'm going to be in a area like that for a few days, I switch back to my old Samsung S5, which is a PITA process with Verizon. Or I use my wife's Note.

I have an older Wilson booster to help with that, but it only allows the 6P to be able to make calls and do some text messaging. With the Note or S5, it usually allows a hotspot to be created.

So my question is, does anyone know of a better signal booster? What is your setup, for folks doing that? It must run on a 12v automotive type system.

Note 7 Promotions: How to Score a 2nd Promotional Item from Samsung with your N7 Swap

As one of the millions who received a recalled Note 7, I was curious if I could somehow score a second promotional item with my replacement device. My first prize, the 256gb SD card, arrived within a couple of weeks. Upon receiving my replacement Note 7 yesterday I went to the Samsung Promotions page and entered my new IMEI and WiFi MAC address. Then there's the required upload of the receipt of purchase. At this step I feared that Samsung may catch me double dipping if I submitted the same receipt, as T-Mobile does not give a new one with the swapped unit. As a T-Mobile customer, this paperwork is called the Jump On Demand EIP finance contract. I imported my PDF contract(TMO emailed to me with the original unit) in Photoshop and changed the date to yesterday's date, then switched a few digits of the contract number. Lo and behold this worked! Now I get a GearVR too!

App Problems

Hi, im a new root user and a while ago I added some SWAP to my device and ever since my apps have not been working correctly. On apps that require some sort of login (like on social media), when i try to log in the app crashes. Now I'm not sure what causes this. Apps that have like a built-in browser crash whenever it opens. Google Play services also crash and i cannot use the google play store or anything. If someone could please help It'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Possible to convert Sprint A9 to US Unlocked? I did it with my HTC 10.

I was wondering if this is safe to do. I converted my 10 to a International model by flashing the firmware package by removing the radio.img, recovery.img (to keep twrp), and changing the android-info.txt model ID to match the model of my device, in order to use CM13 based ROMs.

It worked fine, no issues as far as I can tell. I was wondering if this would be possible with the A9, in order to get CM to boot on it?

"Invalid Argument" when attempting to remount /system as RW

While I was trying to install the "GSAM Root Companion" app and having it fail, and I discovered that the problem was that /system is still mounted RO. No problem, says I, and fired up my terminal app, pop into a root prompt with su, and issue the old invocation:

My device is properly rooted (typing 'su' in the terminal prompt gives me my '#' prompt), selinux is set to 'permissive' (per the output of 'getenforce'), but all of them just keep giving me "Invalid Argument". At this point, the only thing I can think of is that it's actually blocked in the kernel, but as I'm hardly an expert, I figured I should put it up here before I gave up for good.

Anyone have a line on this?

How to improve RAM usage and apps in the background

I have owned a Redmi note 3 for a while (Snapdragon 650 3gb RAM). I couldn't be happier with it. Great design, excellent development community, smoth, great configuration. I am really in love with it.

However... The only thing I hate about it is that it keeps on killing apps running in the background. Every time I switch apps, the cellphone reloads it. For instance when I am browsing in Chrome and then go to Whatssap to check something, then when I go back to Chrome it reloads the app... That turns pretty silly.

I know this has been discussed but I just can't believe this amazing device can't have better ram management.

Is there a workaround I can try to improve this? Like a sort of configuration or something? I am running MIUI. Eu rom with Radon kernel. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello, I have questions about kernel of g850.

I have never rooted it or touched my g850 's kernel, it is 5.0.2 lollipop and kernel version is 3.10.9-8213318.
I want to benchmark performance and power consumption on exynos5430 with HMP scheduler and Energy Aware Scheduler.
I have 2 questions about that.

Is my g850's kernel include HMP scheduler(Global task scheduler)? I mean, does it applied on my kernel and my g850's processor is running with HMP Scheduler without any configuration?
And, If I want to install 3.18 kernel which include Energy Aware Scheduler, what kind of defconfig i have to use?
I checked arch/arm/config, but there are only arm's fundamental defconfig files.(like acs5k, armadillo, exynos, versatile .... etc)
Is there any defconfig for g850? or can I use 5430-base_defconfig(I can't paste link here)?

I've been built kernel for linux, but I'm new to android, so I wish you guys help me for this...

Remote Control Android Phone with another Android Phone via Internet

I have a Nexus 6P (7.0.0 NRD90U), Nexus 5 (6.0.1 MOB31E), and Nexus 4 (5.1.1 LMY48T). They are all rooted and running the latest factory images available from google. I want to be able to remote control my Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 while they are at home on my network with my Nexus 6P over the internet. I need to be able to see the screen of the remote phones and interact/use the apps. Ideally I need something like splashtop or teamviewer to control one phone with the other via the internet. I have tried several apps so far and the closest I have found is remodroid but it only works over a LAN and it just mirrors the screen, it doesn't allow interaction from the other phone. I have tried teamviewer but it won't ever connect.

I want to use one as an always on Wake on LAN packet sender for my desktop PC's. I can get WoL to work 100% of the time on my local home network, but it won't work over the internet after my PC's have been off for more than a few minutes. I have considered building a low power PC that is always on with the BIOS set to turn it on after power loss that I could remote control with teamviewer to send the WoL packets to my other PC's, but I would rather use one of my old Nexus phones because they would use a lot less power and they have a battery for extended power loss.

I would also like to view the camera of one of my old phones remotely (kind of as a security cam/to check on my dog).

I have also considered buying and building a raspberry pi for this but I already have the old phones and don't really want to teach myself everything about raspberry pi's at this time. I'm very good with tech and would have no problem with it, I just don't want to spend the time and effort on a raspberry pi at the moment.

Sync Contact photos from social media to phone contacts

Is there a way to sync Facebook photos to phone contacts? My Windows Phones would automatically link my phone contacts to Facebook contacts and apply the profile pics. I've tried a few apps from the Play Store that are supposed to do that but none have worked. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to do it manually for each contact.

Swap N7100 mobo into N7105 chassis?

I have a working N7100 but the home button is broken. Incidentally, I can get my hands on a N7105 which seems to be affected by the dreaded sudden death syndrome (it keeps restarting, even after successfully flashing stock images via ODIN). Can I put the N7100 mobo in the N7105 chassis without adverse side effects, just so I can have a working home button again?

Questions about the new 3.5.2 firmware issues

I have experienced this issue myself when I tried to flash from 3.5.2 to various roms like DU or PureCM or RR. The fingerprint scanner ended up not working.

I wiped and went back to Freedom OS 1.6.1-CE. I have TWRP 3.0.2-1 installed now on my phone.

If I flash from here will I end up with the firmware issues people have described (ex. fingerprint scanner not working) or should it be fine? Was this only an issue because of the modified TWRP that has to be used with the newer 3.5.2 based roms? I thought that if you wipe the phone of the system then there shouldn't be any problems. Just a bit confused logically as to what is happening here.

I have read a lot of information on this forum about how to install a Stock Rom, I'm new on this and I installed a custom rom and everything was working fine until 2 days ago when I ran out of battery and the phone entered a bootloop, I tried to follow a tutorial and end up deleting the OS with the TWRP, bottomline right now I'm using Odin trying to install a Stock Rom but getting an error:

"OK Google" any screen issues..

For the past week or so I have not been able to get this function to work on any rom. Pure nexus, Android n, benzo, and xosp. All clean installs. I have tried different GApps (open. Benzo, pure nexus) all will not let me enable a function I have had in the past. I am attaching a screen record that shows what I'm dealing with.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

no OS; bootloader and recovery don't work properly

Hey guys :)

I have a Moto x (xt1052) with unlocked bootloader. At this moment I have no OS installed. I can enter bootloader and recovery mode but none of them work properly. As I tried flashing the system using mfastboot it seemed as everything has worked properly but when I tried rebooting the phone, I found out there was still no OS installed.
In recovery mode I get an error no matter what I'm doing. Most of the time it says "unable to mount /data" or "unable to mount storage". I think I lost root but I can't install supersu without an OS and can't install an OS without root.
I also tried RSD lite but it somehow has a problem with my ROMs (I tried three different ones, two of them worked perfectly fine on my phone before).

I really have no idea what I could try next so hopefully you can help me!

ApkMultiTool Error

Hey everyone, I seem to have a problem that's really irritating me. I used .net reflector to edit some dll's in an app in an attempt to mod it. Well, when I go to compile the apk (using option 12) I get an error. I don't know how to fix this error, but it seems like it's due to a missing file maybe? I've already redownloaded it twice and still get the same error. Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Please help me, my phone is dead

Guys, I have a big problem on my Xperia M, maybe you could help. I was using my cell normally when several apps has stopped, Google Play services also stopped and restarted the phone. When it started again, the phone asked for a password to decrypt the internal storage, but i do not. I tried in every way, tried to wipe data, cache, everything. Nothing worked. I tried to change the recovery, but without success. The recovery that is running is the TWRP 2.8. Please if anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it!

Flashlight brightness levels

When it is dark and I take a photo using flashlight, the flashlight turns on to allow the cam to focus and then a much brighter flashlight is used to take the acutal photo.

All flashlight apps that I found only use the weak flashlight. Are there apps that can use the brighter flashlight and how would I get that brighter flashlight using scripts/tasker...?

I am was rooting my zte a2017 and after that was install supersu 2.65 in twrp now when i turning on the device its go to zte logo and then turning off i am was trying to factory reset and format data but nothing change i got always the message on twrp about the modifactions please someone can explain me what to do? I want to back to stock i dont have another device to use :crying:

oneplus one oxygen os installation

hi, guys i m harsh i have android phone oneplus one. i tried to install oxygen os but when i installed i accidently wiped out my data and i m not able to copy rom to local memory so can u tell me how to install oxygen os in oneplus one?? i also tried sideload but when i hit ( adb sideload OnePlus_Bacon_OxygenOS_201601190107.zip) it shows 'protocol fault ( no status)'. please tell me asap.

How can I downgrade my s4?

of course, my phone is SCH-I545, verizon galaxy s4, and the firmware was official OF1...

Currently I am on the OF1 firmware based custom rom, named Stang5litre. (I couldn't get back to previous versions of the firmware)

But I feel really bad because the sms still doesn't work and more often the device getting frozen.

I don't think this rom is stable.

Is there any way to get back to kitkat? Or is it okay to flash the OF1 firmware via Odin if I want stock rom?

Or can anybody recommend any stable custom rom? (I prefer stock figure.)

Replacement Note 7 Performance

Received my replacement Note 7 from Verizon on Wednesday and noticed that the new phone was running with extra lag on everyday apps and random pauses in games that I didn't notice on my original one. Even as I type this message, the words are appearing in a stuttering way.

I attached some Geek Bench scores. By the looks of it, should I contact Verizon, and is anyone else experiencing this?

ZTE Compel (Z830) Custom Rom

Hello Everyone! After we finally got root and twrp custom recovery on this lil Pre-Paid phone I started messing with custom roms. You'll be happy to hear I got the most current version CM13 working! However there are some bugs I need to iron out before I can release a twrp recovery for it. First and foremost is the touch screen. How do the drivers work in android? are the Libraries/modules from the stock rom what I need or they in the kernel? I'm excellent with computers, windows, and command line. Which has gotten me this far. However, I'll be the first to admit I know very little about linux and android. I get the feeling that the libraries are a little like .dll files and APKs are .exe equivalent. Basically, I need to know what to copy/modify from the stock rom to get the touch interface working again in "laymans terms" because of limited exp with android. The more I read about compiling my own rom the more confused I get. :fingers-crossed:

Help me.. I had a s7 edge ando bookmarks

Okay so this is my 5th s7 edge in 3 months. One issue after another. Thank goodness for insurance buto every time I have to get one I'm starting at scratch with all my settings again. This time I can't find my bookmarks at all. I have 3 separate grails and all are signed it buto my bookmarks still won't come back. Please help if you can. Thank you for your time. HELP need serious advice here.

Hi,good afternoon,my friend brought me his HTC one m9,because i have experience with these things, i have flashed many devices of different brands but this is my first HTC device.

Well the problem is this:

He unlocked the botloader,installed TWRP ,super SU.zip (via twrp) and a custom rom with s-on,after that he lost signal,the phone does not have imei and baseband is uknown.

I've searched trough xda ,before posting this,so i came across with a thread that said that the phone can recover signal flashing a custom rom and a kernel,did that with no success. And also i've read that returning the bootloader to locked status,will allow me to flash a RUU file in order to get back to stock.

So, i relocked the bootloader,using CMD, but now the phone just boots into bootloader ,i can enter download mode aswell,but its stucked there.

Phone is recognized by windows,via fastboot.

So,the phone status is bootloader relocked,and s-on.

i´ve tried flashing the RUU via sdcard on download mode and gives me error,also i tried using fastboot commands and the result is the same,i can not flash the RUU file.

Any suggestions are very apreciated. Thanks fot your time.

I find a reason of note7 link speed only 433Mbps.

I guess I've found the reason. Note 7 is very likely just a 1-Stream of MUMIMO. My router is R8500, I compared the R8500 Firmware Version 1.0.0.56 and R8500 Firmware Version 1.0.2.54. On 1.0.0.56 can negotiate to 866Mbps, On Version 1.0.2.54 is only 433Mbps. Version 1.0.2.54 adds support MUMIMO characteristics.

flashed wrong kdz

So recently i soft bricked my phone and since i don't have money to spend on a new phone i started to search on the web on what the problem was. i found out that all i had to do was flash my phone so i like the trusting idiot and worried fool trusted the multiple videos that i saw in the metro's and t mobiles kdz is the same. i then flashed ms631 i noticed it was wrong when i booted it up an metro appeared, so i decided to search forums and found out that i needed h631 since that is regular t mobile. i found some downloads of different h631 but when i try to flash that on it goes through the first but when it get ready to apply it says contact system admin. i really need to fix this phone i tried normal and cse flash and still get the same results and i don't understand how the download links work that take you to lg's site since nothing pops up. is there a way to remove the stupid mistake i did or do i really need to buy another phone, i cant unlock the phone since metro has a dumb device unlock app that they use instead of obtaining the unlock code. the phone is a t mobile lg g stylo

This is a ViPER4Android 2.5.0.5 TWRP recovery Installation zip designed specifically for the Honor 8 device.

The ViPER4Android 2.5.0.5 apk will be installed to /system/priv-app/ViPER4Android and the driver will be preinstalled via the /system/lib/soundfx library and the appropriate entries into both audio_effects.conf files in /system/etc and /system/vendor/etc.

This is labeled "for Honor 8" because of the stock Honor 8 audio_effects.conf files with the ViPER4Android added being used in this recovery Installation zip.

Enforcing Selinux functionality requires SuperSU as the root management app for the /system/su.d/soundserver script to execute.

M7 WLS (no sim, no IMEI, no signal)

Brought a M7 off New Zealand trading site like ebay.
It came with a htc one soul xiaoxiang 8002_x21.0 rom, one i have been unable to find.

But i went ahead a threw the stock RUU at it and now no matter the rom's i flash my phone with im getting no signal, no sim card.

As far as i have played around its the radio, i recall that the xiaoxiang had a "radio" and "beats audio" app? but all the Sprint roms i have tried, about 10 havn't had the radio fix nor have any of them helped.

Feels like im going round and round in circles.
Can anyone suggest a rom or a fix?

I brought this model of phone because i wanted to abuse the infrared blaster and that was the driving factor i reverted to a stock ruu. But at this stage i just want to be able to use my New Zealand sim card!

OS wiped accidentally from TWRP recovery

I accidentally wiped the OS from advanced wipe option. How do I get my phone to work again. I tried to operate adb sideload from recovery but it failed. I have downloaded the stock rom but I do not know how to install it.

Xposed vs Custom rom

As the title states what do you guys prefer.
My understanding is that xposed is not really meant for custom roms but for stock.

So would you prefer stock with xposed or a custom rom with PureNexus for example.

Or do you guys put xposed on custom roms. If so are there issues?

Can't find an option/feature

Hi all. There is a feature that I used with my OG N7 that I can't seem to find with my exchanged phone. While at my desk or sitting on my couch, I would put my phone face down. When I lifted it up, it would go from the always on display to the lock screen. I could then use my thumb to unlock. I may be having a near Sr moment, but for the life of me I can't seem to find how to turn that on in any of the options. I am sure it is hiding in plain site. Do any of you know what I'm talking about? Not a huge deal since I can go to the lock screen by pressing the power button, but I thought it was a nice thing to have.

Why All my donwloads and apks goin to internal memory ?

Hii..! im new here..! and sorry for my bad english ( I'm trying the best I can) it's a pleasure to be part of this community so go the problem:p, let me know because everything is going to release the internal memory of the phone and not the sd? only photos and videos taken with the g3 q motorcycle stored in the sd, is quite annoying because there is little internal memory .. put a sd not activate the function of internal memory make it because I read that gives problems ..

In android 4.4.4 and 5.1 could install apks in the sd or internal memory that allows the custom rooms in 6.0.1? because I have 6.0 official but because the warranty even I can not flash a custom rom other and do not know if that would be the main problem of this official rom ..

[Q] Custom ROM + Fully Rooted.

I would like some help from you guys.
It's been a while since I put a custom rom on my previous phone.
So if possible I would like a comprehensive explanation.

Right now I have Emui 3.1 installed on my P7 L10.
I would like to install a custom rom but I'm not sure I got my bootloader unlocked.
If possible I would like to know how to unlock the bootloader and install a custom rom with full root.

I did some research already on the internet but all the explanations are so short.

Downgrade from nougat to marshmallow

I am currently on 7.0 and i want to downgrade to pure nexus 6.0.1, i have been given advice and the steps are (in the order which i have in my mind) is:

1. boot into twrp
2. format system, cache, dalvik/ART cache and data
3. flash pn 6.0.1
4. flash gapps
5. flash vendor image
6. reboot? done?

idk if i have to flash the mashmallow radio or if downgrading will give me any cellular/wifi problems. can anyone clarify this? also is it possible doing this with the steps above will lead to a brick? (sorry for being a paranoid idiot, just don't want to end up with paperweight)

Verizon Software repair tool FAILED to complete the RUU

Hi, I'm still Locked S-ON.
I was having some issues post-update so I did a reset and it didn't help.
I attached to my laptop and use the HTC Sync Manager. That brings up the Verizon software tool.
It downloaded a 2.3 GB RUU and sent my phone through a series of flashes and re-boots.
It hangs at 19% and leaves my phone with the White on black HTC with the red security warning text.
I tried deleting the RUU and re-downloading but same result.

Any advice?

Gear/sd card promo

Not sure if anyone else tried yet, but the latest promo from Samsung doesn't specifically mention the note 7 for the gear VR or 256gb sd card. I submitted my info and was approved for shipment already.

For those getting swaps, if you get a full receipt for the new device you may be able to get lucky as well.
